A New Cousin!
Chandler Bybee
May 2, 2000 was the day Autumn and Austin finally greeted their new nephew. Chandler
Scott Bybee was born to Robby and Scott. The day before Robbyn was having
contractions, and mom and I took her walking at the mall. When we believed she was
sufficiently ready, we took her to St. John’s Hospital. They said she was dilated to a 3,
but they had suddenly been inundated with women in labor and sent her home to “rest”.
About midnight she headed back up to the hospital in severe discomfort and they admitted
her. She called mom and I around 5 or 6 a.m., and we headed up to the hospital. Laura
and I kept our ears to the door as she pushed. Mom and Ruthie and Gene Bybee also
waited impatiently outside the door, but were not as bold as Laura and I. Finally, he
came! He was so precious and calm that, I guess, at some point, there was some concern
over just how calm he was. Everything checked out okay though. It was a difficult
delivery as he was “sunny side up” and not face down like he needed to be, but Robbyn
was quite the trooper and successfully delivered. She certainly did not look like she had
just had a baby.
They were there two days and had multitudes of visitors. This makes the 3rd grandbaby
for the Fennells and number one for the Bybees. Everyone loves and adores Chandler. He
is beautiful, calm, and growing fast. |
