Halloween 2000
Austin and Autumn go trick or treating.
written by Lisa Landers
Austin just had to be a red Power Ranger. Autumn was the cutest little pink bunny
rabbit. Problem was that Halloween night was about 80 degrees and Autumn’s costume
made her miserably hot. Austin had a blast though. We went to roughly 25 houses in the
neighborhood, and Austin was the one who said “Okay, this is the last one”. He had had
enough. He did remember to say “trick or treat” about every 5th house and more
frequently “thank you”. He tried to be shy, and would not talk back to anyone speaking to
him.
Autumn was not a fan of makeup on her face and fought the application. She also
wasn’t feeling well. The kids did attend a halloween carnival at their daycare. Again,
Autumn could have lived without it, but Austin had a really good time. He wanted to do
everything. He loved the candy and treats, but the cake walk took the cake. He wanted
to do it over and over again, but could not understand why they would not give hime a
cake. It would be over, and he would say “But, I wanted a cake!”. He was determined to
keep going until he won, but Autumn had other ideas since it was past her bedtime (6:30
p.m.).
